FUMUL – Friends of UM University of Liberia — supports the efforts of the University to become a leading educational institution in western Africa. To this end, we support all the educational schools that are overseen by the Liberia Annual Conference, the University, and the health institutions related to the University programs. We were blessed to have Dr. Mator Kpangbai of United Methodist University in Liberia present with us at MUMC on June 17. He also attended Annual Conference Session in Modesto June 20-23. We were able to have a display table in a good location and talked with many people about our FUMUL project. We have developed an email list with over 50 people who want to keep apprised of our ongoing work. We intend to send our updates quarterly. Additionally, Mator was able to speak at the UM churches in Lemoore and Armona. Both congregations made donations to the work of FUMUL.
FUMUL funds will be used to begin to pay back the loan that was accepted to get the computer lab established in Liberia. The computers arrived in Liberia. Hopefully we will soon be able to report that the computer lab is being set up!
